About Encinitas

Encinitas is a Southern California beach city in the coastal area of North County, San Diego including the zip codes of 92023 and 92024. The city was incorporated in 1986 and includes about 20 square miles. Encinitas is generally divided into five areas including Leucadia, New and Old Encinitas, Cardiff-by-the-Sea and Olivenhain. As of the most recent census, Encinitas has a population of 59,518 which includes an estimated 24,082 households.

Encinitas Shopping

The city does not include a large, centralized shopping mall, but is home to several smaller shopping areas and includes nearly 300 retail stores. In fact, Encinitas includes more than 10 shopping centers, many of them immediately off El Camino Real, arguably the city's largest and most main street. Some of the shopping centers include Camino Village Plaza, Camino Encinitas Plaza, El Camino Promenade and El Camino Commons.
